I like Exodus too, but of course if you have a lid that will have to be removed.
FrancoApr 24, 2008 at 8:11 pm #1430076How about, "The Guru" or "Sage"?
Apr 24, 2008 at 8:16 pm #1430077Let my people goooooooooo…. sorry, couldn't resist :P.
Apr 24, 2008 at 8:16 pm #1430078You could always switch religions-
Maybe the MLD Karma, or the Tao, or the Nirvana…
Apr 24, 2008 at 8:30 pm #1430082AnonymousInactiveThe "Ark" sounds like it fits the mission profile exactly. I like it.
Apr 24, 2008 at 8:48 pm #1430083Hi,
Exodus is being used by Mountain Hardwear for one of their pack lines for what that is worth. These are a series of large packs with a great frame system on them. If Coup had been using one of these and was eating my kind of food he may have gotten more than 30 miles.
I have one that I have put on a diet and it would be my pack for a long non-supplied non-supported hike if I am ever able to try it.
Apr 24, 2008 at 11:56 pm #1430103How about Lucifer? As in the light-bearer,or allowing for poetic license in the translation, bearer of light [things].
Apr 25, 2008 at 1:41 am #1430110Lucifer
Most will know that name from the Bible , a name for Venus the morning star, in the sense of being bright rather than not-heavy. Most likely a reference to Babylon. However to some it means Satan and if you are at the right level with the Masons is one of the names of God.
Only in English light (bright) and light(weightless) are spelled the same way.
Not a good choice…..

Apr 25, 2008 at 5:49 am #1430122irony franco, e.g. humor. that also doesn't translate well down under, apparently.
Apr 25, 2008 at 8:12 am #1430135I assume "repository for stinkin' wet moldy clothing" is taken by McHale's northwest origins so my current leaning is "Necronomicon", it is a well known fact that famed Sierra legend Norman Cldye hauled this book everywhere.
Apr 25, 2008 at 10:10 am #1430156Ron,
How about putting a little Zip in the name and call it: "The Lightning" or "The Flash" or a combo of the two.
John
Apr 25, 2008 at 10:37 am #1430161I always liked the acronym K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Stupid) which well describes the Zip—a pack reduced to essentials—-a lovely pack all in all.
In light of Passover, Exodus will do nicely as well.
A rugged Dyneema version would be nice but will be a heavier pack. Probably similar to ULA's Relay which is over a pound.
The only improvement to the existing Zip is to have a slightly wider tapered shoulder strap—I think I stated as much in my user review of the pack on this Site. Everything else is already gravy. Thanks, Ron.
Apr 25, 2008 at 11:27 am #1430176Reading the post up above recommending 'lucifier' — the supposed irony is lost here in beautiful Pasadena as well. I think this is where an emoticon would help.
But back to the topic… how about 'LNT'? Meaning light n' tough, of course.

Apr 25, 2008 at 8:20 pm #1430239Jonathan, that comment sounds familiar…
OK then, how about Lucifer " a wicked new pack"
FrancoApr 25, 2008 at 8:26 pm #1430240Franco:
Perhaps you mean Lucifer — a wickedly light pack? :)
Apr 25, 2008 at 8:52 pm #1430244…Especially if the pack weighed exactly 6.66oz. >:^)>
Apr 25, 2008 at 9:03 pm #1430247How about calling it the ADZPCTKO?
Bet they will have heard of you then, Ron! :)
