I plopped together some footage/photos I took while hiking the CDT this year. Figured some prospective hikers might be interested in looking at it.
It was my first trail of the big three and I liked it a lot.
Nov 5, 2013 at 4:05 pm #2041540Very nice! It looks like you experienced a little bit of everything along the way; just perfect for a thru-hike. Congrats!
Nov 5, 2013 at 5:47 pm #2041587Thanks for sharing that.
Nov 6, 2013 at 12:59 pm #2041865Great movie – thanks for sharing…
May I ask why you decided to do the CDT as the first of the big three?
Nov 7, 2013 at 6:38 am #2042107The CDT seemed more exciting than the other two. It also traversed more areas that I was interested in/haven't been to.
Nov 7, 2013 at 3:51 pm #2042332Good job on putting together the video. Kinda makes me want to go hiking…
Nov 7, 2013 at 7:43 pm #2042391thanks for posting that. If you could do one section over again what would it be?
Nov 10, 2013 at 10:08 pm #2043220That was some gorgeous country and a nice video of it.
Nov 11, 2013 at 8:17 am #2043291Very nice indeed! You packed a lot of different flavors into that 7 minute container.
Nov 15, 2013 at 8:12 pm #2045053The only problem with it is that it needs to be longer so we can enjoy more pretty countryside!
Nov 16, 2013 at 7:42 pm #2045332There are a lot of places I would like to revisit….. Glacier, the Bob, the Anaconda-Pintlers, the Beaverheads, the Winds, the San Juans during a less hazardous weather window, the Gila, etc, etc.
The trail goes through a lot of good places, enough to make me forget about some.
Nov 17, 2013 at 3:53 pm #2045577Definitely good stuff. As for spending more time in each, been thinking it might be worth getting a vehicle, parking it at the TH at each, … the Gila, San Juan's, etc.. and spending several days looping each wilderness, then repeating as the snow retreats further north from mid-spring to summer (south or north) .. or vice versa.
Dec 31, 2013 at 8:20 am #2059038That is a AWESOME! video! I checked out your other videos as well, and they were all really cool to watch.
What are you shooting with?
Jan 27, 2014 at 7:28 pm #2067017I use a little kodak playsport for video while hiking/traveling. I like that it waterproof/fairly indestructible.
Updated my original post to include some photos posted here.
Feb 15, 2014 at 6:57 am #2073750Very nice!
