Hey all! I'm working at a camp this summer in Lake City, CO in the San Juan Mountains. I plan on taking advantage of my days off to peak some 14ers in the area. Any suggestions or recommendations? I hear Uncompahgre is pretty solid.

Uncomp is a big slog, great views but a super crowded uphill walk.

Wetterhorn a few more miles down the trail is a much more fun. A steep hike followed by a short, fun, solid, exposed class 3 section. It was my first 14'er.

If you can get around to Chicago Basin out of Durango area, Windham, Eoulus (sp?), and Sunlight are fun. But Chicago Basin can get pretty crowded to.
