Remove Avatar/Gear List

How do you remove your avatar/gear list? I was going to remove it for a bit while I work on my new one, and am not able to. I had to upload a blank photo, and upload a blank pdf. There use to be a checkbox that I am no longer seeing.

I believe replacing is your only option, no removal possible.
