Great for car camping. Saves

Great for car camping. Saves trip to the water tap. Only down side is you have to leave them out for a few days to dry out the water drops inside before storage. But that's not really something you can change. Would buy again.

Love Platypus!

I only use bladders from Platypus for years. They are tasteless, weightless and my old ones are still not leaking. For 10years! That’s very impressive and that’s the reason I only go with Platypus.

If Kyle Smaine Recommended It, It Has to Be Good.

I purchased two of these soft flasks for ski touring, as I like staying hydrated but don't like hard bottles in my ski touring pack (added weight and hard if I fall). Previously, I've used other soft flasks and they've never made it a full winter before cracking around the nozzle. A week before Christmas, a friend Kyle Smaine posted a video to youtube speaking to some last minute presents ideas for loved ones who ski tour. I selfishly was hoping that he mentioned ZipFit, the company I work for. He didn't, that's okay. However, this Platy 2.0 L bottle was one of the gifts. I added one to my cart and then added another to my cart, because I knew I wanted one, but figured my ski touring partner Drew might also want one. I've used it every day since it arrived (just before the holidays). I love it. I am hydrated and I have Kyle to thank and this Platy 2.0 to thank. Just over a week ago, Kyle passed away in an avalanche in Japan. Really heavy to process. This bottle reminds me of his joy, his smile, his love for skiing. I'm happy to have it. For this reason and it's functionality.

The platy 2.0L bottle is

The platy 2.0L bottle is great for extra water storage. I always keep one or two in my pack. They weigh almost nothing, they're tough( I fell on mine when it was full and it didn't break) and they take up almost no space. For me it's a no brainer.

Bought these bottles to replace

Bought these bottles to replace old dirty ones. I had no issues with the older ones. Great to have while at camp or a very dry water section of the trail.

Good lightweight water bag for what it is

Never expect something that is so light will last as long as a heavier duty collapsible. My experience over 45 years lugging water up and down mountains favors carrying a mix of a couple lw bladders and a sub quart size plastic bottle or two on extended solo trips for low weight, versatility and backup. Having mateable threads between bladders, filters, couplings, and bottle is a good idea. Platypus edges out Sawyer's squeeze bags slightly in durability, and several other companies make more durable, and heavier options. The Hydropak 3 liter is a pretty solid choice for larger capacity storage. I usually gravity filter, and squeeze only if I have to, and have water storage capacity to camp or bivy away from water when required. Avoid creasing plastic bladders near spouts and welded seams... Clean with warm soapy water, rinse, and store completely full to reduce microbe growth. For long term, add a drop or two of good old bleach to the full bag and don't waste time drying!

Works great... until it starts leaking

Ditto what Connor says in his 3/22/22 review. Just had my second 2-liter bottle start leaking after a hole broke through from too much creasing just at the base of the cap. I use mine to filter into from the GravityWorks filter (which is great) and then drink out of as a hydration bladder. I really hate having to keep throwing them out and buying a new one after a season or two. So I'm in the market for something that might last longer.
