4/30/25

Am female, noticed the Mens  were on sale (1/25). So I bought a Small Mens, red; hooded for winter or upcoming camping trips. Worn  casually or rugged camping at altitude. Down horrid in rain! AVOID getting this garment wet!

“Regular” sizes  too pricey for me–had to wait on sale; be open to gender cut.

Positives:

packs really small

gender seems to NOT matter–suspect “larger”  mens sizes have longer length sleeves.

length and over-all fit just fine–

Warm

pockets for gloves

Clever design with smaller, sewn square-shaped packets holding down, reducing  shift and dead air spaces

really teensy thread used–few needle holes letting cold air in.

accommodates several layers of clothing

Negatives (or  for you carefully consider)

pricey

fragile

have one hole with down coming out from easy wear -(did nothing to earn hole either)–hard to replace errant down fibers

vendor may offer better, stronger fabric options

everything mail-order, so sizing may provide iffy for you

fragile zippers–must really take care to zip up and careful for any dirt in zippers.

Wrists are elastic–easily stretched out

Challenging to wash and completely dry due to fragility of external fabrics.

Below photo of the jacket, folded with  cold weather gear for long Colorado trail,  summer, 2025. Pack into “Mariposa” 60 L pack. Being down, easily ” smooshed” into pack; re-lofts with several shakes.
