It seems like one of the most important parts of backpacking – hydration – is limited to not much more than a discussion of various water filters. There is so much more to hydration – route planning, collection, pre-filtering, filtering, purification, taste improvement, storage, quality, delivery, electrolytes, etc. I’ve always regarded hydration awareness as the primary focus for any of my backcountry adventures. With that in mind, I’ve created a video on what makes up my hydration kit. I hope it helps to spark some constructive discussions about our hydration needs in the backcountry.
