I know, I know—no 2-year-old really needs technical UL gear.  I agree!  I feel a bit silly turning to the forum for items for a little kiddo, but before we buy new items, I wanted to ask:

I’m looking for a winter fleece and a rain jacket for my soon-to-be 2-year-old, but I’m also starting to track down gear for when she gets a bit older.  So if you have any other kid-related stuff that would make being outside in the cold, rainy PNW weather easier for hikes and camping trips, shoot me a message!  Thanks!

Hey, my kids started backpacking at 8 weeks old.  It’s never too early!  I don’t have any gear for a 2 year old left, but I have managed to find stuff here.  I’ve also had good success with buying used on ebay and then reselling as they’ve grown out of things (this has worked better with base layers, fleece, etc than with rain gear, which is trashed when they’re done.)  Kids Patagonia stuff holds it’s value really well, and I’ve often got 80% to 100% plus of what I originally paid.  Good luck!
