WHY Is There No Notification Of Private Messages?

I never click on my forum name in the upper left corner, and recently did… found I had four or so Private Messages going back a couple years. Seriously? Why is there no “blinking banner” or some such alerting one to a PM like on other every other forum software I’ve been involved with going back over 20 years?

I get an email, but gmail stacks the BPL PM emails into one conversation, so a new notification email is buried many pages down on my gmail where I don’t see it.

I can see it if I search for it in gmail (or if I click the link in BPL occasionally).

There have been sporadic issues over the last few years of some people not getting a notification when they get a PM. It works for most (it seems), but not for all.

My recommendation is to send a note to customer support.

email… I get so much email I don’t have my primary linked to BPL. The system of getting an email (another d*mn email!) is archaic and clunky. There should be a notification on the site…

I get emails but often miss them I agree there are plenty of other forms who notify you of things without and with emails
