Depending on the size, height and diameter, you want to achieve, a 0.20mm (steel gauge 6) is quite sturdy, but for the common 900ml (or smaller) pots I’ve used a 0.12mm (steel gauge 10) is good though you have to be careful not to buckle it
I got this from Ebay, IIRC came from east Europe and with £25 could make two.
It weigths very little, I think is around 50gr which is not bad for a support/windshield all in one.
Interesting! I had not thought of looking on eBay for raw materials! It looks like Ti foil is available in lots of different thicknesses. Thanks, Andrea.
