The main phase of the migration to the new server is now complete.
We are seeing page load times cut in half (often more), for both logged-in and logged-out users, and negligible server timeout errors.
There are a few lingering bugs, but they’re mostly inconsequential and we’ll resolve these in the background over the next week or so.
- Fix the lingering bugs that were introduced during the migration – should be completed by middle of next week. This includes system email notifications, which right now is our highest usability priority.
- Database query optimizations to further increase the speed of viewing forum threads and posting new posts – we are waiting on a software update from our forum developer and are expecting this any day. Best case scenario is that this update will be tested, installed and running smooth by end of next week.
- Once these are completed, we’ll go through unresolved bug reports posted in this forum, and prioritize and address those, which will take 1-2 weeks.
At this point, we’ll have a really solid foundation of website performance that will allow us to evaluate and implement the feature requests that have been proposed here to improve the usability of the forums.
Thanks to everyone for their patience, and especially to those who have volunteered their time to work behind the scenes to help us analyze and diagnose the bugs that showed up this week.Jun 22, 2017 at 7:06 pm #3474876

My page load time is reduced like everyone else. Best of all, I can use Chrome and the highly annoying beer ad that takes over the page and makes it impossible to use is gone.
