As of this morning, the delivery of system emails (password reset notifications, forum notification emails, PM notification emails) is not working for some users. To test, I subscribed to a forum thread, and received an email when someone posted with a link to the thread. The problem, as your tech folks have no doubt figured out, is that while the link in the email seems to be correct, it’s not the actual link that the link goes to (obscured link or whatever).
So while the link in the email was: https://backpackinglight.com/forums/topic/gear-testers-wanted/#post-3474585

We *may* have a solution for this in hand. We have implemented it and I won’t know fully until tomorrow, when some of the resulting DNS changes propagate around the ‘net.Jun 22, 2017 at 8:13 pm #3474884
Email services (including notification emails, customer support / helpdesk) were disrupted during the migration, and have been mostly unavailable for the past 24-48 hours.
We are almost positive we have a fix in place now, but it will take 24 hours to fully propagate. It will likely occur much sooner.Jun 22, 2017 at 8:30 pm #3474888

OK, most of these issues should be resolved within minutes to an hour. We switched all of these pointers over to an enterprise grade Managed DNS service which should speed things up and ensure that all of these services stay online “at a server near you…”Jun 22, 2017 at 9:41 pm #3474915
