I have a three prototype alcohol stoves that are available for free (with a catch of course). The stoves are based upon our Tilight stove but bigger and are designed for use with pot as opposed to mugs (details later). The stove is made of titanium and weighs 5 grams. The pot to ground distance is 1.75”: it works with our Bobcat Systems and will work with a TD Sidewinder is you lift the stove up by ½”. The stoves will boil 2 cups of 70 F in about 7 ½ minutes using 15 ml of denatured alcohol. The stove has a large enough capacity to boil 4 cups of ice cold water.
The catch? The 3 stoves will be given away to the first 3 limericks about UL backpacking posted here and you cannot use the word Nantucket (you may only make one submission). Winners will need to pay for shipping (US First Class ~$3),: I wouldn’t recommend International entries as the shipping cost/value is not great. I will PM the winners for their email address in order to send out the shipping invoice. Best WishesMar 4, 2018 at 11:43 pm #3522344

It’s not the best camping in a downpour
While sleeping in a tent without a floor.
But a great treasure trove
Is an alcohol stove,

Is that a lion or a moose or a bear?
Am I about to soil my day-old underwear?
Well I’ve been hiking all day
So I really must say,
I’m quite tired, so I really don’t care….Mar 5, 2018 at 2:39 am #3522393

The path to Ultralight is a Quest
Followed while seeking the best,
To pare all gear
With nary a fear,
Dropping weight until finessed.
