Without an index or list I have no way of knowing what threads I was following, and if there are no posts there is no way to track that thread.
If there are no posts, then there is no way for me to go back to repost – for instance a price drop, or a bump on a WTB, or a bump on “information about”.
Nov 29, 2015 at 2:01 pm #3367659I subscribe to this thread to test that button.
?
Nov 29, 2015 at 2:07 pm #3367661Needs to be turned on ? Maybe takes longer than expected ? Didn’t do what I thought it did.
Nov 29, 2015 at 3:25 pm #3367679This was a vital feature to me, just like “New Posts”.
And I have ads now! Ugh.
Nov 30, 2015 at 7:21 pm #3367933Yes, please bring back the “watched” threads feature. I had a variety of threads bookmarked through this feature, whether it be a DIY solution I might want to try some day, pros and cons of a particular piece of gear, someone selling something I might be interested in but was waiting for a price drop, etc.
Thank you.
Nov 30, 2015 at 8:13 pm #3367947Yes, please do restore a watched threads feature
Dec 1, 2015 at 6:43 pm #3368159I’m now seeing subscribed threads in my subscriptions area of my profile.
Dec 3, 2015 at 9:23 am #3368440Is there a way to revive the list of threads I had previously tagged to be “watched”? I feel I had built a little library of resources on very specific gear decisions, DIY solutions, etc, tailored to some specific wants and needs of mine, and now that’s gone.
Dec 8, 2015 at 4:57 pm #3369459I agree with JR,
PLEASE restore my tagged to be” watched” I also had a library of resources that I had built up over time. I didn’t even get a notification that this change was comming so I could copy them or download them off the site.
Thank you,
Terry
Dec 9, 2015 at 5:46 pm #3369687Fully agree with those posted above. PLEASE restore our subscribed threads lists.
Dec 9, 2015 at 6:23 pm #3369694Under quick links, to the right at the top, is a View My Favorites option.
It seems to work like the old “Watch this Thread” option.
Subscribe seems similar, but I don’t know the pros/cons of one versus the other.
These options appear at the upper right corner of the first post in the thread.
They are summarized in My Profile.
Dec 9, 2015 at 7:46 pm #3369713AFAICT Subscribe shows new activity, favorite is a bookmark.
Dec 17, 2015 at 3:11 pm #3370976Has this issue been acknowledged? Is there a solution, or our we just out of luck and have to start over?

Bump.
It was a really, really valuable feature of this forum that I had a library of links to key discussions, and no notice that the forum change would not preserve the list of saved links. Any way to get back the list of links we had saved?

See my December 9th post above.
… post then post your observations here.
Dec 30, 2015 at 5:33 pm #3373321I saw that before, Greg, but it doesn’t address what I’m asking about (and others have asked for too).
First, under quick links I do not see a View My Favorites option. No matter, I can navigate to my Favorites through my profile. And it’s empty.
Before the forum switch I had tagged a few dozen threads to be “watched.” I know I can still tag threads on the new forum to be favorited or watched, but I’m starting with a slate wiped clean. What I’m asking about is restoring back to me the list of threads I had already tagged to be watched. I’ll never remember, find, and re-tag all the threads I had already tagged in the old forum, and that was a very valuable resource, a way for me to jump right to a discussion I wanted to be able to return to.
It’s good to have a way to “favorite” threads, it’s a related but discrete idea to be able to still see a list of “favorites” or “watched” I had built under the old forum, which right now I cannot see.
Dec 30, 2015 at 5:48 pm #3373323JR – after this being talked about for over a month with nary a peep from the admins, much less a resolution, you may very well be screwed.
Dec 30, 2015 at 6:30 pm #3373326JR –
Got it.
But, I doubt if it will happen. They are gone.
