Does anyone have pictures/experience with pitching the trailstar as a pyramid? I am really curios what it ends up being like.
Basically, I am considering a duomid vs. trailstar and have read several threads about pros/cons of each.
I was leaning more towards the trailstar as it would provide better room for me (6'4"). My main concern is everyone saying its a pain to find a spot to pitch it.
Where I live (Michigan) it isn't typically too hard to find a place to pitch a largish tent, but I want to get a feel for the pyramid pitch of the trailstar to know if it is a workable solution or not.
I'd prefer to keep the thread about the trailstar pitch as there are a million threads regarding duo vs trailstar….
A picture is worth a thousand words.

Dec 19, 2013 at 7:50 pm #2056119I did see a picture on Bpl a while back showing a Trailstar in a pyramid pitch but don't have the link, no doubt someone will provide the link.
I have used both a Trailstar and Carbon Fiber Duomid on winter trips but much prefer a Golite Sl3.Dec 19, 2013 at 7:53 pm #2056120I found this guy:

but what I really want is a picture of the inside.

Dec 19, 2013 at 7:55 pm #2056122I did some math…. should be a 7'2" sided pyramid with a height of about 4'6"
sounds small…
the sided would be way shorter than a speedmid but the height would be ~54.3" better by ~.3" than a duomid.
