Is anyone in need of a Golite Jam 50L Large, especially in Australia or New Zealand?
I bought a Golite Jam 50L large but the waist belt does not fit me properly. Size 32 waist is just shy of fitting me but since I have a spine length of a large it placed me in awkward sizing position.
I have only used it once on an overnight hike. It is still close to brand new condition.
I was wondering if anyone was interested in buying this from me.
I live in Sydney Australia, so if there is any Australians or Kiwis that would like a Golite product but can't get it due to their international shipping and bank card exclusion here is your chance.
Just let me know if you want to see photos, if your interested, I can put some up. I was hoping to sell it for the same price I got it for $109 Australian since you cannot get it here unless you have US/Canadian address and bank card.
PS. If no one is interested any advice on customising the waist belt to make it fit. Could I just sew extra padding onto the hip pads?Mar 14, 2013 at 9:35 pm #1965826

Was the hipbelt too small for you or too large? My torso length would place me at a large, but I only have 31" waist…Mar 14, 2013 at 9:50 pm #1965831

The hip belt was too large for me not by much, which was so frustrating. I am 32 waist and the large starts at 33.
Here are the technical specs from the Golite website:
Volume: 3050 in3, 50 L
Maximum Recommended Load: 30 lbs, 14kg
Spine Length: Small 15.5"-17.5" (39.4 cm-44.5 cm); Medium 17.5"-19.5" (44.5 cm-49.5 cm); Large 19.5"-21.5" (49.5 cm-54.6 cm)
Hip Belt Length: Small 26"-45.5" (66 cm-115.6 cm); Medium 29"-48" (73.6 cm-121.9 cm); Large 33"-54" (83.8 cm-137.2 cm)
I will set it up so I can get a PMMar 15, 2013 at 5:42 am #1965876

This was a major design flaw for them IMNSHO, and am disappointed they have not corrected it yet. You cannot cinch it down below 33". Guess everyone with large torsos is thick, too. The torso length is also shorter than what the Pinnacle used to be by almost an inch.Mar 15, 2013 at 7:28 pm #1966142
I know, I guess that is the problem with the unisex sizes. There will be a demographic that misses out.
I thought I would be fine though as my Black Diamond Infinity pack is sized as a large (with a large torso and a minimum waist belt size at 34) and fits nicely. I can cinch the waist belt nice and tight.
Haha maybe I need to put on weight but doing a thru hike I would probably go back to a 32 and be in the same situation except on the trail!Mar 29, 2013 at 3:49 am #1970720
For sale or Want to Buy?
Is anyone interested in the above mentioned GoLite Jam for $70 (negotiable).
Has only been used once. Is in excellent condition. Just had a sizing issue. Really sad that it doesn't fit me.
Would work best for people in Australia or New Zealand due to shipping fees.
Just PM if your interested.Apr 1, 2013 at 6:18 am #1971620

It's too late now, but I (at 197cm and 86kg) bought an Arc'teryx hipbelt and put that on first, then buckled the golite's waistbelt over top of that. Use that combination with a rolled sleeping pad for structure in the main compartment, and it's a quite-comfortable combination.
