I'm curious if those of you with mids use a bivy with it during winter or rain. I have a 10×10 mid which I bought to primarily use during winter. I've been trying to decide whether I should pair a bivy with it for wind protection or if I'll be fine with just a ground cloth.
Mar 19, 2012 at 7:48 pm #1856330I feel good about just the mid in winter. Once its firm against the ground in storm mode, there are no issues with wind. If you want extra warmth, that's a different question.
Mar 20, 2012 at 5:57 am #1856448For me, a 10×10 mid is so big, that there should be no issue with rainsplash. I only use a ground sheet.
