    hi Josh
That Raft River Jacket should also work as a wind jacket ?

    Any plans for pants ?
(btw I like the idea of the stuff sack larger than it can be. unlike the Montane stuff sacks…)

The Raft River Jacket sounds like an uber-minimalist rain jacket, but no replacement for a breathable windshirt— I would be a sweaty mess. But maybe this would mate well with a wind *vest* to get crazy light.

It works great for a wind shirt in colder temps. It works well for a wind shirt in warmer temps also, just not if you are being very active. We have a wind shirt/jacket(it will have a hood) coming out in breathable SevenD, it will be water resistant, and shed wind very well.

Funny you should mention Montane. My Litespeed has allot of miles on it, and I think the stuff sack was probably my only complaint.

No plan for pants any time soon, the thought had not crossed my mind. I like the idea though.

Those Montane stuff sacks do look great on display….
I have a pair of the Montane Featherlight that I often carry "just in case"
Not that water resistant but work OK in the wind and are nice to have at camp .
I don't have the top in that so the wind/shirt jacket would be of some interest to me.

Is it waterproof? Yes. The fabric is siliconized, so it is like very light sil-nylon. Standard Sil is siliconized 30 denier nylon, the SevenD-s is siliconized 7 denier nylon.
