    Hi all,
    I'm new around here, I've lurked the forum a bit and now I need advice :)
    I'm thinking of make me a bivy bag to use coupled with a small tarp.
    In my mind the bag should be wind/waterproof and transpirant, and will have a decent sized aperture with netting to keep away mosquitos and the like, 'cause they really like my blood.
    The tarp will cover my head and torso, letting the bivy keep the rain out my lower body.
    I'm looking at these two tissues for the top:
    http://www.extremtextil.de/catalog/3-layer-laminate-bionic-membrane-soft-170g-sqm::1644.html
    http://www.extremtextil.de/catalog/3-layer-laminate-elastic-ripstop-160g-sqm::1431.html
    and this one for the bottom:
    http://www.extremtextil.de/catalog/Groundsheet-Nylon-PU-coated-90-g-sqm::460.html
    What do you think? Are they suited for my plans?

    @retiredjerry

    Locale: Oregon and Washington

    160 g/square meter is sort of heavy (~4.5 oz/yd2)

    waterproofness and breathability are unknown

    90 g/sqm for floor is also sort of heavy

    Ben is selling eVent that he got from BPL clearance http://goosefeet.webs.com/clearance.htm

    eVent is supposed to be the lightest/most breathable

    eVent is not normally available, this is a unique opportunity

    Shield silnylon from thru-hiker.com is supposed to be waterproof for floor and lighter

    The waterproofness is specified in all the tissues listed, the MVTR of the first link should be 18.000 g/m²/24h.
    I need to buy from within Europe in order to limit shipping/customs costs, and extremtextil seems to be the better option…
