Anybody know what kind of pack he's carrying in this photo?

Looks like a nice little ruck. My old rei daypack is on its last leg. I would love to find something simple, durable and comfortable to replace it with. Been looking at the Oware daypacks… Maybe too minimalist? Also, I've gotten used to water bottle pockets.
Cheers
Apr 24, 2015 at 7:10 am #2194276I picked one up for less than $25 shipped. I think they are still on sale. Hoping to find someone to add some outer pockets to it. Also check out Gossamer Gear. They have several light day packs.
Apr 24, 2015 at 7:26 am #2194278I drooled over the Zimmerbuilt daypack a couple times but haven't pulled the trigger because I like a water bottle pocket too. Maybe worth asking what it'd cost to do a custom version.
Apr 24, 2015 at 9:09 am #2194306Here is a Daypack with an added pocket, http://www.williswall.com/60/2015/2/19/custom-tools-zimmerbuilt-packs.html
I just ordered a Hybrid Daypack without pockets :-)
cheers,

http://www.zimmerbuilt.com/store/p26/Water_Bottle_Pocket.htmlApr 24, 2015 at 11:34 am #2194348I love my flash 18. Got it on sale for $20 or $25 a few black fridays ago. Survived 200 days of hard trail work in the Mojave and is still hanging in there. Hell I did an overnighter with it once.
Apr 26, 2015 at 8:31 am #2194757I have a Zimmerbuilt Hybrid Daypack and love it. I ordered it without the front daisy chain. About 7oz. http://www.zimmerbuilt.com/backpacks.html
I also have a Quickstep I use for summer. Great lightweight pack.
Apr 27, 2015 at 4:55 am #2194932Hi,
I don't count on ounces in daypack. Why? Because I'm carrying a small amount of food in it, no shelter, no other items I would carry on a overnighter. So I go the classic daypacks route which are comfortable, affordable but heavy (2-3 pounds). Climbed mount Hermon twice with Gregory Z30 for example (above 6500 ft elevation gain) – was extremely comfortable. I consider my day hikes as "training" toward long hikes and for keeping the good form&fit.
Apr 27, 2015 at 8:13 am #2194969The Gossamer Gear Type 2 is a really nice daypack. Sophisticated shape, comfy shoulder straps, nice side pockets, and a removeable belt with large pockets.
