Flash Reviews provide a brief overview of a new product, or perhaps a piece of backpacking gear that may not appear in our performance / field review pipeline. The purpose of a Flash Review is to introduce you to new gear and give you an overview of its features and specifications. Typically, Flash Reviews include some author commentary about how the reviewed piece of gear fits into the overall style of lightweight backpacking, and perhaps a brief statement of observed performance based on one-time or otherwise short-term field use.
