It's almost fall, so it is time for chowder!
This recipe is inspired by a recipe that Greentick posted on Whiteblaze recently. This recipe also uses a number of items from HarmonyHouseFoods.com (All the dried items come in the Super Sampler on their website). Even more reason to get the Super Sampler. The quality continues to amaze me!
Creamy Corn & Bean Chowder
In a quart freezer bag put:
3 Tbsp Nido dried milk
2 tsp dried corn
1 tsp dried onion
4 tsp dried carrot
1 tsp dried bell peppers
4 tsp diced potatoes
4 tsp black beans
4 tsp pinto beans
1 tsp low sodium bouillon of choice (1 Tbsp homemade)
1/4 tsp chili powder
1/4 tsp oregano
1/4 tsp dried diced garlicAlso take 1-2 Tbsp Parmesan Cheese
Add 1 1/2 cups boiling water, stir well. Put in a cozy for 15-20 minutes. Top with Parmesan Cheese.
Serves 1 as main meal, 2 as a starter.
Salt to taste if desired!
