> Any chance you may be working on a 2 person Cloudburst? Something a little smaller?
Dave, the Cloudburst 2 retired to Tahiti a few years ago. I get an occasional postcard and all it says is, "Je déteste le camping!"
May 3, 2014 at 4:51 pm #2098930LOL.
The cold medicine is working well, I see.
(still laughing)
May 3, 2014 at 4:53 pm #2098931> Any chance of finding out the weight of the fly plus arch pole, without the inner
Something like 13.5 ounces, at least that's what this pre-production version weighs.
May 3, 2014 at 10:46 pm #2098974Hmmm… is that really the fly PLUS the arch pole, or am I misunderstanding?
May 4, 2014 at 12:48 am #2098982Must be the medicine…
I think Henry posted the weight of the inner not the fly+pole.
I would think that fly+pole will be about 37 oz.May 4, 2014 at 6:58 am #2099009The Tarptent website claims 52 oz. total weight for the Double Moment (DW)
23.5 oz. Inner tent (Henry + Franco's opinion)
4.0 oz. End struts (website)
37.0 oz. Fly + arch pole (Franco's estimate)
51.0 oz. Total.
For comparison, the Double Rainbow (41 oz) with the optional liner (4 oz) weighs 45 oz.
Adding insult to injury, we just bought a second Double Rainbow last Fall, and now Henry – evil person that he is – comes out with THIS jewel.
A POX UPON HIM!
May 4, 2014 at 3:20 pm #2099137We're waiting with bated breath to see photos of this newest Tarptent!

This is a set up that some will like :
May 4, 2014 at 8:02 pm #2099235The ground level webbing at each end should be adjustable for a wider spread of the fly corners to lower it if winds shift to the end of the tent.
Yeah, there's a good fly overhang at each end but it's still a wind funnel.
Otherwise I love it – until I think of suggestion #2, that is. ;o)
Great end support option with hiking poles.
May 4, 2014 at 8:13 pm #2099242There is a vent cover but hard to see in these shots.
You can spot it in the first shot rolled up on the left side.
(you see it rolled up to the right at the other end)
I don't think that the fly can be lowered at the ends without creating waves and wrinkles.
Not something desirable when windy. -
