Just after the last storms dropped a few feet of fresh snow in the high Sierra Andrew F., Chris S. and I headed into Sabrina Basin for a four day snowshoeing trip.

Apr 4, 2014 at 9:54 am #2089601Thanks for organizing the trip, Andy. I had a blast. Maybe next year we'll have to go back to do the full loop.
And thanks for getting there a day early to break the trail for us!

@David, I hear you, xc skiing is a better way to explore much farther into the backcountry. We saw a couple of skiers on their way up to Echo Lake and I'm sure they didn't appreciate our snowshoe tracks! I got a late start with downhill skiing so the transition to splitboarding might be the next step for me. Next winter. . .Apr 7, 2014 at 3:01 pm #2090703The learning curve of skiing is a harsh one, no way around it. Whenever I have too many decent days out in a row, I get nervous because I know I'm in for a thrashing soon.
Apr 7, 2014 at 4:00 pm #2090734Nice to see some snow in the High Sierra!
