This has been my sole pack for the last two years and I've since moved on. Photos below are all I have on the computer right now. I can take pictures of the pack in it's current condition. It's aged well and looks every bit as good as it did when I received it thanks to the Cordura, save for regular wear and scuffs and what appears to be paint blotches from a jobsite under the lid. Not sure what it is, but it doesn't affect how the pack functions.
Chris Zimmer built this simple pack for me as a custom job. The design is basically a clone of the Topo-Designs "Klettersack", but with a few added touches to make it function well in the mountains as a multi-day pack or daypack, with or without a hipbelt depending on load needs. This pack also works well on the bike without the hipbelt attached.
I have a ULA Circuit hipbelt that slips through and attaches with burly velcro to a pass-through on the lower lumbar portion of the pack. The hipbelt attachment isn't "wimpy" in any way. Dual side compression straps on the sides and a single zip pocket on the top lid. Synthetic 4-way lash tabs on the rear are good for attaching additional gear in multiple configurations. Bright orange pack liner helps make finding objects in pack easier, so I've heard- honestly, it just looks cool. Shoulder straps use 3D spacer mesh, the standard material and straps Zimmerbuilt uses on all his packs. I had him add a single D- ring to each strap. No pockets on the interior of the pack. No side pockets. No load lifters. Pretty straight forward ruck.
Pack material: 1000d Cordura in grey colorway
Collar: nylon (*not sure what type, but it's strong as hell)
Hipbelt: ULA Circuit style belt w/ pockets
Volume: roughly 35-40L
Torso: Medium length (18" from pack/hipbelt bottom to shoulder strap attachment)
RiRi zipper on the lid pocket
3/4" Sea to Summit hook release buckles used for side accessory/compression straps

@rosyfinchLocale: the mountains
Perhaps I missed it, but I don't see the weight listed.
Unbelievable to me how many items get listed with out a weight.
WEIGHT, man… this is BPL… weight matters to almost everyone here, no?

I'd be all over this if I had a medium torso. Unfortunately I'm too big for this little beauty.May 5, 2014 at 10:05 pm #2099606
