    Thanks, Billy, but slipping was not the problem. The problem was making the poles too light to withstand skiing. I've got some twistlock LifeLink poles, carbon fiber and aluminum, that I've used for nearly twenty years. They don't slip, and they don't break, despite serious abuse; however, they weigh twice what the Fizan Compacts weigh.

    As you may know, cam locks have drawbacks, too.
