So I have been trying out gear for a few years now and have narrowed it down to what I really like. What I am having trouble with still is finding a good backpack that has a minimalist frame or is frame-less. Let me know what I can cut or any pointers. I'm looking for something that I could use from an overnight to a through hike. Bear Canister could be attached at the top or put inside the pack. I would usually split the weight of the duo with my girl friend. That aside I'm open to all criticism. Here is my gear so far:

Before you go looking for a backpack, you ought to get a good idea what sort of volume you are looking for.

I'm looking for a backpack between 38 to 50 liters. If it is 50 it needs to compress well and hold the load tight.

List looks good. Have you considered Gossamer Gear Gorilla? Has a frame, lid and hip belt pockets, etc. lots of Bells and whistles for a 24 oz. pack. Comfortable too.

Ditch the sleeping bag and clothes stuff sacks and switch to trash compactor bag

Ditch shelter stuff sack and store tent at bottom of pack outside trash compactor bag.

I assume u can leave the inner bug net at home when not needed, but can u remove the shelter's floor and replace with window film ground sheet?

Switch sleeping pad to a neo air of some flavor

Leave the wind shirt at home and keep what u have or even swap that to a driducks jacket.

Leave the cup at home and change all your bladders in for a 2l platypus you can hang the add drink hose and splice in a sawyer inline filter, leave the squeeze at home.

Leave the bug repellant and sunscreen at home and keep your hat and wear long sleeve synthetic top and bottom. Hat, top, bottom soaked in permethrin.

Sway camp towel for generic bandana. Can wear it on you head, blow your nose, wash yourself, etc. mine is attached to front pack strap for easy access.
