Where can I find a light down hood to go with my EB jacket?
I plan to use Velcro patches to attatch it to my down sweater collar.
Apr 30, 2013 at 10:31 pm #1982149I've used it several times in conjunction with both quilts and jackets.
1.3oz, 900FP, Pertex Quantum.
I used shock cord through the loops on front and back and under my arms to secure it one extremely windy day, but it proved unnecessary. Never felt it needed attachment as it overlaps well with the collar on my jackets. Any wind that could get through that is some strange crafty bad juju sort of breeze.

May 1, 2013 at 6:35 am #1982194I have the same down hood and worked really well when sleeping and in the morning with wind chills in the teens.
May 1, 2013 at 9:08 am #1982234There's a separate hood made by Jacks R Better: http://www.jacksrbetter.com/shop/down-hood/
Listed at 2oz. It includes a kit for attaching it to jackets and bodywarmers, which uses Omnitape, I believe, rather than Velcro (I have a convertible quilt from Jacks R Better and that has Omnitape to attach the hood in poncho mode).
I've not used it myself and in all honesty it looks a little crude in the pictures, but I've been happy with the quilt from them and a pair of down sleeves arrived in the post this very afternoon.
May 1, 2013 at 9:31 am #1982239Another vote for the Z-Pack hood made for them by Goosefeet. I've been very pleased with it, and recommend it.
FWIW, I do tend to wear a stocking cap or Buff underneath it, to keep my oily unwashed backpacking hair from soiling the hood.
May 1, 2013 at 9:50 am #1982245Lukes ultralite sells a down hood for $49. I can't really tell you much more than that. I have never used a down hood, but it looks like a competitive option.
