Most kids make paper airplanes when they're bored at school. I make these.Apr 17, 2013 at 12:32 pm #1977707
I think you could get that a little more taut with some cat curves.
Also, site selection is a bit dubious. That monitor looks like it could come crashing down in a good wind.Apr 17, 2013 at 12:45 pm #1977716
That mouse looks like he's a little agressive as well.Apr 17, 2013 at 2:28 pm #1977745
No bivy? No quilt? Yellow dude is going to get cold…..Apr 17, 2013 at 4:09 pm #1977789
Yellow Dude is one of those uber-minimalist types. You can tell by the materials used for his guyout points.Apr 17, 2013 at 5:01 pm #1977803
Pitched too close to the edge.
Where's the water source?Apr 17, 2013 at 7:45 pm #1977862
It's 200 inches away, as per School Desk State Park regulation.Apr 17, 2013 at 7:49 pm #1977866
Sounds like my restraining order.Apr 17, 2013 at 7:51 pm #1977867
What, no campfire?Apr 17, 2013 at 8:10 pm #1977876
No, Ken, this is super uber extra ultra light. That entire shelter weighs less than an ounce.Apr 18, 2013 at 8:51 am #1978008
Pretty smart camping in an outdoor theater parking lot. Can't quite tell what movie is playing but it looks exciting.Apr 18, 2013 at 9:18 am #1978023
Correct me if I'm wrong but the movie appears to be TPS Reports Part Deuce.
Are those the new Bodaciously UUUUL Bolivian Balsa Wood Trekking poles under the tarp? Sweet!Apr 18, 2013 at 11:31 am #1978079
Those no-cook guys are so skinny!Apr 18, 2013 at 11:49 am #1978085
Any abnormal wear to the fabric given the proximity to radiation given off by the monitor? Oh, and I would recommend increasing stability by flipping over the front eraser.Apr 18, 2013 at 12:26 pm #1978101
Good point on that front eraser. If a table wind came up that thing could start walking. No telling where it might end up. Could upset some of the other campers.Apr 18, 2013 at 12:31 pm #1978104
Are there pit toilets? Or does Yellow Dude shimmy himself in between the papers in those binders to do his business? It would seem like the local terrain is not conducive to cat-holes.Apr 18, 2013 at 2:07 pm #1978146
You might need some help because it looks rather large but that keyboard could be used as a posture pedic sleeping pad if you dragged it under the tarp. (My cat Squggles likes taking cat naps on them and she suggested it).Apr 18, 2013 at 8:32 pm #1978244
"Or does Yellow Dude shimmy himself in between the papers in those binders to do his business?"
But just think of it! Yellow dude could use himself to wipe up…….
Actually, that's kinda gross. Never mind…..Apr 18, 2013 at 10:26 pm #1978280

Is this what chaff is reduced to? A full day of "Bored at School" posts?Apr 19, 2013 at 4:51 am #1978304
If you don't like it, go on a different thread/ don't go on chaff. The point of chaff is that anyone can post whatever they want.Apr 19, 2013 at 5:14 am #1978308
Whoa there Elijah. Dave is just making an observation. Chaff has undergone major changes as of late. It is now a shadow of its former self.
Now I notice yellow dude has no pack or other equipment. Has he heard of Gearswap?Apr 19, 2013 at 5:14 am #1978309

Yellow Dude was promised a bunch of gear from Big Sky International many years ago when he donated to BSI's Kickstarter campaign. He's still waiting.Apr 19, 2013 at 6:46 am #1978331
I didn't mean to sound rude. I could have phrased that in a better way. I've just always thought of BPL as a judgement free forum, unless the criticism is constructive, of course. I didn't find Dave's reply to be constructive. I was just saying that some people were entertained by this thread (I know I was), whether it is educational or not, which, in my opinion, is completely acceptible on Chaff.Apr 19, 2013 at 8:22 am #1978361
"I've just always thought of BPL as a judgement free forum, unless the criticism is constructive, of course."
You're kidding me, right? Elijah, BPL is anything but a judgement free forum, and the criticism can be downright nonconstructive. There are some pretty recent threads that show this!
"I was just saying that some people were entertained by this thread (I know I was), whether it is educational or not, which, in my opinion, is completely acceptible on Chaff."
Yup, your thread is completely acceptable on Chaff, and some of us were obviously entertained. I don't speak for Dave (nor did I sleep in a Holiday Inn Express last night), but my guess is that his comment was tongue in cheek – not an indictment, more of an eye roll.
