Hi,
I just made small daysack out of Tyvek. Nothing new here I know,
but I just wanted to share it with you guys here at MYOG forum.
Thank you all for your shared experiences in your pack making..
yours "tips and tricks" were of great help to me.It's my first ever homemade pack and I had great time making it. Everything
except cord, cordlock and ladderlock is made out of Tyvek "homewrap". Seams
are all glued with 3M super glue. I like the look of GossamerGear Riksak and
had it in mind while creating "Tysak". Most of the seams are made with overlap
to get more strenght (thanks again for the tip about overlaping seam). It holds around 15 liters and weighs in at 2.84 oz. Using different lighter type
of Tyvek, like soft R type would bring the weight further down. I know
it will not last long but that's why I made it at first place to see
how durable tyvek is and to start learning how to make a backpack. Thanks again!
P.S.
Sorry for my bad sounding Englishedited to add another picture
Mar 2, 2013 at 1:44 pm #1960609I like the design. I'm a huge rucksack fan. Very nice work, I may have to make one just for the cost efficiency.
EDIT: Did you use some sort of template or did you just improvise?
Cheers!

thank you both very much. Yes clean and simple is what I like as well!
@Dan no there was no actual pattern, just few sketch ups and lots of ideas/thoughts from
this site while making it. I think i didn't improvise as all parts were thought out before cutting them to save on Tyvek.Yes you should try to make one as well, it's dead easy and more important
it's the start of my backpack making learning curve:). As you can see from the pictures
it's not ideal but still I had lots of fun.and view from back
cheers
