I have to take a minimum of 2 weeks of vacation between now and the end of March. I normally don't backpack in the winter and so am looking at options near Colorado for a 2-4 day trip that wouldn't involve "Winter" conditions. Perhaps something in Western Colorado, Southern Utah, Northern Arizona where snow travel is minimal and overnight lows are at freezing or above. Any suggestions?

A friend of mine said they often go to the Moab area in late March backpacking, mountain
    biking and climbing.

    Go to Canyonlands NP.

Relatively easy logistics, not too far of a drive and plenty of options.

This would be more March than now. :)

IF you feel a little more adventurous, try Canyons of the Ancients

Dominguez Canyon near Grand Junction also intrigues me:

Everywhere is going to be snowy and/or cold in the conditions you mentioned currently. In Feb or March? More options.
