My wife and I will be in the area from April 23 – June 23. Any idea if it's realistic to backpack in this area during this time frame? We're east coasters and not overwhelmingly ready for mega snow. Our Squall by tarptent may limit us. We'd love to do several 2-3 day hikes. Is this realistic with the weather and snowpack?
I visited Jedediah Smith in September one year and it was gorgeous. Really nice fall colors.
