REI-Outlet has Houdini's for sale right now for $37.83!
I don't have time to make the link- sorryDec 17, 2012 at 7:28 pm #1936183Thanks for posting! I had been wanting to pick up a houdini to try out and compare it to my Verto, but haven't wanted to drop the $$ on one…but at $37 (after you add it to the cart, today only), well, I didn't think I would get it any cheaper. It is red delicious…so I should stick out like a sore thumb!
And yes, this order did qualify for free 2 day shipping. Just select it on the shipping page and once you go to you order entry page it will show up as free!
Dec 17, 2012 at 7:45 pm #1936186Thanks Tad!

Dec 17, 2012 at 9:07 pm #1936203I like my Houdini, but it is the most hideous orange. So tempting. And theoretically, if you use fatwallet.com, you can get another 6%.
Dec 17, 2012 at 9:13 pm #1936206ordered Womens L :-/ not sure how its going to fit.
Dec 17, 2012 at 9:37 pm #1936209Haha. Me too! Hoping it fits.
It goes down to $37 when you add it to the cart.Dec 18, 2012 at 10:33 am #1936333Now they are $47.83, 20% off is over. It is still a good deal.
Dec 18, 2012 at 10:35 am #1936334I ordered W's L not biting my nails to think if it would look obvious. Hope it doesn't. I have a EB Sirroco windshirt which has lost all this DWR and was waiting for Houdini to comeon sale and it can't get any better than this.
Dec 20, 2012 at 5:56 pm #1937058Except the color, It doesn't look like a Womens Jacket. I will live with the color and hey its a technical piece and won't win any style competitions. :-)
Dec 20, 2012 at 7:39 pm #1937082I imagine that a few people got their Houdini's in today… :)
I am comparing mine to my NF Verto I have, which is not perfect, but doesn't have much that I am too concerned about, especially considering the weight! Upon first look at the Houdini, there are some nice things about it too…mainly the hood and the soft hand, but I want to use it and see how it does in the field to see if it is worth the weight to swap it out for the Verto…
Here is a write up I put on my blog with a video:

Dec 21, 2012 at 8:59 am #1937205i didn't really like my houdini for a weird reason. it was too slippery for my pack. i don't like to have my sternum strap strapped (1 pack doesn't even have one), and the material made my shoulder straps slide way out, pulling my shoulders back. this resulted in some very sore shoulders. :(
