Haven't been around in a while, so sorry if this has been posted, but Eddie Bauer has 40% off everything, including the neoair X-THERM!! Regular size only; use promotional code "ICE."
Nov 26, 2012 at 1:58 am #1931122and "everything" includes First Ascent too. good selection of sizes and colors on the couple things I checked.
Nov 26, 2012 at 4:59 am #1931132not bad
Nov 26, 2012 at 5:00 am #1931133This is great! I just bought an Xtherm thanks to you.
Nov 26, 2012 at 9:19 am #1931183You're welcome, Evan.
I picked up two last night, one for the wife and I. She could have easily used a size medium and saved another ounce, but at this price, I just couldn't pass it up. I doubt we'll be seeing X-Therms at 40% off very often.
For those of you on the fence about buying from Eddie Bauer, they have an unconditional lifetime guarantee, much like REI.
Nov 26, 2012 at 11:27 am #1931216Great call! Also noteworthy: sunnto core altimeter watch, neoair xlite, steripen opti, and although not ultralight, I doubt you'll ever score a leatherman wave for 40% off again. Don't forget about all the dog gear like the ruff-wear dog packs, leashes and collars. You can also find limited sizes of the higher-end dog booties under their Clearance section ( a great deal when coupled with the 40% off)
If they don't have an item online because it's sold out, call your closest EB store and see if they have any left in their inventory. The online-store and physical brick and mortar stores have completely different inventory tracking systems and stock. I called a store in Massachusetts, and the extremely helpful employee was able to search the national system and track down a jacket in my size in stores located in Arizona and Maine. They honored the 40% off, but I had to pay shipping costs (I think $7) to have it shipped from the store to my house. Awesome company to work with.
Nov 26, 2012 at 2:43 pm #1931291now I finally got it in time for the New England winter! Score! Thank you!
Nov 26, 2012 at 3:17 pm #1931300Pulled trigger on Core Altimeter watch and a pair of Igniter pants…ah EB deals are awesome, missed on the Steripen Opti.
Nov 26, 2012 at 4:41 pm #1931320600-Fill Down Pillows:
King size has 21oz of 600 fill for $51 shipped after the discount. That is $2.5 per ounce. Not too shabby. Are there cheaper sources than that?
This one is likely to be 700 Fill although that is not confirmed (Maybe its 800 fill?)
I sent an email to EB to confirm whether it is 700 fill and also the % of down/feathers:Edit response from EB:
"I am happy to assist you and thank you for your interest in our products!
The Superior Goose Down Pillow-Firm is 100% Grey Goose Down with 650 Fill Power."Nov 26, 2012 at 6:50 pm #1931353Got one this morning. If you are a teacher or military then you can get another 10% off. If they can't do it over the phone take your receipt an EB store and they will credit you the 10%. I'll get the pad for about $110. I WOW
Nov 26, 2012 at 7:43 pm #1931366Great deal. If I keep saving money like this I might end up broke.
Nov 26, 2012 at 8:53 pm #1931384@ Rob LOL
same here.
Nov 27, 2012 at 7:56 am #1931455They are continuing the deal through today. 40% off everything.
Weird aside: they have mountaineering axes if you call the Michigan Ave store in Chicago. They are $54 with the discount; made by Grivel, length 70cm.
Nov 27, 2012 at 8:36 am #1931467Hopefully most of you remembered to go through one of the cash back sites as well. Going through mrrebates gives you an extra 5% in cashback on the deal right now.
Nov 27, 2012 at 11:00 am #1931496Nothing there for me in a tall that was worth it except possibly the wind pro gloves for $15. Looked at the Gude Hoddy but it was more like a really light softshell layer rather than a fleece. eh. You can buy better gear at cheaper sale price in the last few weeks.
Nov 27, 2012 at 12:26 pm #1931527freakin' EB, i spent all day yesterday fighting off the urge to get a neoair. and now they extend the deal. don't know how long i can stay strong.
Nov 27, 2012 at 1:03 pm #1931539Right there with ya Charles . . .
It was the extra 5% in cashback that tipped me over the edge. Grabbed a Suunto Core and some FA Guide pants.
Nov 27, 2012 at 1:11 pm #1931543Sold out. =(
Dec 2, 2012 at 9:11 pm #1932686Hey, just a heads up… my order hadn't processed for nearly 5 days, so I called customer service and the lady said everything looked ok, and that it should process the next day. It didn't, so I called again, and this time the customer service person said it should have been processed days ago and that she would send a notice to that department.
My order has finally been processed, but maybe just double check yer orders.
Dec 2, 2012 at 9:27 pm #1932692Mine was processed last week. Do they do the same thing that Backwoods does, where the individual stores send stuff out? That might explain things. Otherwise, who knows.
