Dec 11, 2012 at 9:50 pm #1934927+1 for needing a loud alarm. I would give my right arm for a solar powered basic analog watch with a very loud alarm.

Titanium case (ultralight!), alarms, calendar, and it's solar powered. Will continue to research.
CONTINUED RESEARCH:
Here's a neat little Timex. Chronograph, easy alarm, apparently loud enough to wake you up. Analog look. I dig, I don't want an R2-D2 on my wrist.
Dec 12, 2012 at 6:29 am #1934966Mary, can you hang the watch from your tent roof somehow? I hang mine on my hammock ridgeline so it is right above my face and doesn't get smushed in down.
Wrt watches, I have never heard a bad thing about Suunto.
