I have been using a Speedy Stitcher for heavyduty repair a few times over the years. I like the handling for repairing thing in the field. Now, do an ultralight stitching awl exist? I would bring it in my repair kit. Maybe a sewing machine needle?
Any suggestion?

I followed this link and it led me to take a look at jewelers pin vise. It seem they could hold sewing machine needle. I will buy one to see.
