I am taking five boys ranging from 12 to 21 to Colorado in late July and want to do a 2-3 nighter with a 14'er thrown in. The older boys have backpacking experience and did Flattop Mtn in RMNP so they know what they are getting into. Not looking for anything too technical. The 12 yr old is tough and will keep up. Suggestions? Would prefer to stay within a couple of hours of the Denver/Estes Park area but will travel further for something spectacular.

Probably half the 14ers in CO are within 3 hours of Denver.
All the Front Range, and Ten Mile and Mosquito, most of the Sawatch and a few in the Sangres are in range. I'd skip the Sangres, they're ROUGH. Some of the Front Range is either steep or long.

Ten Mile is nice. Lincoln/Bross/Democrat/Cameron is pretty sweet because you can bag them all in 2 days. They're not technical at all.

You could likely bang out more than one Collegiate Peak (Yale/Harvard/Columbia/Oxford/Princeton) In fact, most of the Sawatch range is doable, though it might be a stretch on the driving. Not very technical, unless you want it to be.

There's a wealth of trip reports at 14ers.com and SummitPost.org

See what you find there that you like.
