To go with the very spiffy K10D body, Pentax is rolling out two new zoom lenses:

    smc PENTAX-DA 16-50mm F2.8ED AL [IF] SDM
    smc PENTAX-DA* 50-135mm F2.8ED [IF] SDM

Like the K10, they're weather sealed. Note, however, they're not remotely light, as the big apertures would indicate. However, they may be the quality equivalents of Pentax's estimable Limited prime lenses, many of which are excellent backpacking choices.

Oh yeah, they've got some teeny new cameras too, including a waterproof W30.

PMA is next month so expect a flood of new photo gear. Fingers crossed for a Stateside E-400 with IS.

Pentax is now part of the Hoya group ( Hoya/Kenko/Tokina/Slik) and are also working with Samsung. Expect some Samsung input soon with the Pentax SLR line up. ( for the moment the two Samsung cameras are just re-badged Pentaxes)

I can't wait for these lenses to hit the market. The 50-135/2.8 with a 1.5x teleconverter will be a great combo.
