    Hi Everyone –

I'm probably dreaming an impossible dream but here goes: Is there such a thing as a one-person, free-standing tent with two doors? Just something I'm pondering.

The only ones I can think of are the 1 person tents by Big Sky International.

    Kathy,

The Tarptent Double Rainbow is sold as a 2 person tent but from my experience it is best used with one person. It has 2 doors and is freestanding when used with trekking poles. 2 doors as well. Tarptent also sells the Scarp 1 that is freestanding when used with the optional crossing poles and it has 2 doors as well.

Hi Heath – I'd forgotten about the Scarp 1 with the crossing poles. Thanks!

The Tarptent Notch and Stratospire 1 both have 2 doors and 2 vestibules. They are not free standing, but since a freestanding tent has to be staked down anyway if you don't want it to fly away with your gear, IMHO they are greatly overrated. I switched to non-freestanding tents 7 years ago and never regretted it.
