I live in Canada where the Kobo ereader may be more common than the Kindle. My Kobo lasted easily 2-3 weeks using it an average of 1 hour per day. How ever, the nice thing about the ereaders is that they are portable and the bad thing about them is they are portable, mine went missing.
It turns out Kobo just released a smaller version of their ereader, the Kobo Mini. They state that the weight is 134 g (4.73 oz) and that the battery will last over 1 month with Wi Fi turned off. It is 102 x 133 x 10 mm (4 x 5.2 x 0.4 in)
