I am trying to find a pattern for the asymmetrical Hennessy hammock. Anyone know where I can find it?

I want to make a Hennessy style hammock but without the bug netting and I don't want to cut up my HH (just yet).

I cannot seem to locate the link but the Hennessey ASM is patented and the description and illustrations of how it is made are located on the US Patent & Trademark Office web site. I have the PDF document and the JPEGs I could email you if you cannot find it.

You can see the patent here:
    http://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO2&Sect2=HITOFF&u=%2Fnetahtml%2FPTO%2Fsearch-adv.htm&r=15&p=1&f=G&l=50&d=PTXT&S1=hennessy.INNM.&OS=in/hennessy&RS=IN/hennessy

I always have problems displaying the pics on the Patent site.

I have a printed copy of the patent at home. I have not read it in detail but I don't really see and dimensions that I can use. The patent also shows several different asymmetrical shapes but it did not say which one is used for the current Hennessy hammocks.

    Dale,

If you have the patent.pdf you could send me, that would be great.

    I found the following image…

It was on the Kick Ass Quilts website…

You may be able to use the measurements as a rough estimate.

I made a prototype hennessy hammock and so far so good! Off to try it with the real deal now! I made my prototype out of a bed sheet!

It really wasn't all that difficult. Once I have the real deal done, I will be posting pictures!

I spent a couple of days working on a prototype. Here is what I came up with:

Also here are some pictures of a disassembled Hennessy:

The Hennessy is a big rectangle just like the Speer Hammocks with a few unique techniques in putting it together. The tie out points and the bug netting are what give it it's asymm shape.
