Bet most all of us have interesting desktops!?! Mine is actually pretty mellow — an early morning in the Sundarbans — the mangrove forest lining coastal Bangladesh. I like the serenity, and the red glow of the morning sun.Apr 2, 2012 at 6:31 pm #1862771

Mine is bland, because my office is in my house and this is the view from my office.

I rotate a few ones around.
Right now it's this one. I don't know this girl; she's 2 months old at the time of the picture and made it in the paper because of her hair. My daughter found her googling "ginger baby" I think ( no offense meant!).
There is so much in that expression; I love looking at her.
This one is of my daughter 3 years ago, right at the beginning of being a teen…..simply a sweet happy girl.
This is a picture my daughter took a while ago. The mushrooms were 3 millimeters.
This one keeps coming back, mostly when I feel a little homesick.Apr 2, 2012 at 7:40 pm #1862797
Most of the time it'll be photos of moments that brought me joy. Was this until recently:

This time of year (after too much winter), my thoughts and desktop move to fishing. My backpacking trips (and summer) are still too far off to inspire that theme change.Apr 3, 2012 at 6:50 am #1862954

Taken mid September of 2009 on a trip to some hidden lakes I had wanted to visit for years – and I knew my chance was dwindling so it was go or not – I was pregnant with my second son and went bushwacking…what a trip!

At work I used to do a "recursive" background. A shot of my actual desk on my desktop. It made people stop and say "wait …"Apr 3, 2012 at 8:54 am #1863017

A great view of Rainier from Grand Park in the RNP. I have to admit, I found it online rather than took it. But it was epic, so it became my desktop.
Go to your happy place!

Well, like most of my life, cluttered as heck and quite the mess, but with my pups always on my mind. This is an old shot of them, around 10 years ago. Chance, on the right, died a couple of years ago. Casey is about to go under the knife for the second time in three months for a tumor that doesn't want to quit!
