I had the old Pertex labs (when England based) test the impact of Permethrin on their fluorocarbon based DWR. They reported the DWR went from class 5 (good) to class 3-2 (poor). I would expect similar results in your case. Put the Permethrin on your base layer and not on your DWR treated layer.
Mar 18, 2012 at 9:42 am #1855514A permethrin treatment applied to my (already DWRed) boots last fall did seem to me to noticeably decrease beading.
