Would you guys consider carrying flour and baking powder to make some quick trail bread to be a calorie efficient food? (wieght wize) I have no clue what caloric density of unleavened bread would be as it relates to carrying just the plain flour.
Feb 6, 2012 at 10:09 pm #1835595Whole wheat flour is about 95 cal/oz, so not great in terms of energy/weight ratio, but better then carrying bread or tortillas, since they have some water in them. But probably only worth it if you are cooking on fires, since otherwise it will take a lot of fuel and that will add weight. Sure would be tasty, though!

I bet something like muffin mix would be a lot more weight efficient. -
