I have an old O* quallofil bag.
I was about to throw it out when it came to me that I might be able to make something out of it. Which is kinda funny since I have never made anything. But thought maybe I could give it a try.
I first thought of a vest …
then a hat and socks …The shell and liner is made of nylon.
So what would be the best way to reseal the nylon after cutting it?
And, what would be a good first time project for me to start with??Dec 24, 2011 at 6:49 pm #1815661A friend of mine took 2 sleeping bags and put them together with zippers and such to make a fat suit. He uses it in the deep cold around camp – kind of like the poor mans 8000 meter suit.
Enjoy,
Dave

There better be a humor section if you want me to show my first ever attempt at making something. Maybe I will and everyone can have a good holiday laugh.
Dec 25, 2011 at 8:03 pm #1815830Since this is a nylon shell, what type of thread should I use?

Gutterman 100% Polyester thread works, readily available at local fabric store
