    I like the needles area too. Although I've only been there once (1993). Ended up hiking the Elephant something and then out to the confluence the next day. Pretty neat area.

    Yeah- Elephant Hill! Sure- I know that spot. It's a wonderful area- so diverse and varied…it's a playground! Slots, huge meadows, deep canyons, arches, exposed slickrock, open expanses, and the Colorado (some secret spots too for those who look hard). I always recommend Needles as an intro to the desert. SO different than my home of Washington.
