Just finished a bug bivy large enough for myself, gear and dog. I used a stansport double pyramid net and added a tyvek floor(recycled ground cloth), and a zipper salvaged from an old tent.
Total cost < $20
Enjoy,
Dave
Oct 13, 2011 at 2:08 pm #1790164What is the finished weight?
Are you worried about your dogs nails on the tyvek?
Oct 13, 2011 at 4:41 pm #1790224Jeremy,
The total weight is 12 ounces. The netting was 5 ounces before I cut off the skirting. The tyvek is an old ground sheet and can be repaired or replaced for cheap. Now if the dog decides to walk through the netting, then there may be a problem !
Enjoy,
Dave
