Hey all, got a group going over Kearsarge to Center Basin, over Junction Pass, then Shepherds Pass and then over Forrester and back to Onion Valley this weekend. Any ideas of mosquitos (so weird asking that in Sept) as well as water levels and snow on the passes??? Normally those questions are early season questions but it has been a strange year
Aug 30, 2011 at 7:47 pm #1774544Ken, I've already been researching that topic. From what I can tell, there should still be some old snow patches, and on the highest spots the north-facing and east-facing slopes should have some large snow patches. However, there shouldn't be any show-stoppers. Bubbs Creek should no longer look like the Amazon River.
For the mosquitos, just head up higher into the breeze.
