Does anyone know if the Rae Lakes trail crosses the White Fork of Woods Creek? The trail conditions website says it is "dangerous" but does not give any details. From other things I read, it seems like the White Fork is further up the JMT, above the junction?
Jul 18, 2011 at 2:49 pm #1760592Yes, if you are doing the Rae Lakes Loop in a clockwise direction, you normally get to Woods Crossing and then turn right to head to Rae Lakes proper. Instead, if you turn left and go toward Pinchot Pass a couple of miles along the JMT, you will see the White Fork.
