Is there a book or website that clearing explains and shows the different ways to setup a tarp? I don't use trekking poles and it seems to be taking me way too long to setup a simple shelter. Thanks.

I don't use trekking poles, either, but my shaped tarps go up with carbon fiber poles that don't weigh much. Aluminum poles aren't expensive, and fiberglas poles are cheaper as well.

Sticks are free. Tiz what I use.

You can almost always find sticks, a tree or other objects to give support.
Take the time to experiment.
Have fun with it.
Don't wait until it matters to figure things out:-) -
